Hey guys so are you as broken hearted as me for people in need? i know over the last few months God has really been pushing on my heart for the homeless of florida...the problem is huger than ever now with economy so bad...i even see it in the therapy room families becoming homeless i mean these are middle class families...and so more and more my heart breaks to help give these people a second chance at a normal life...i mean thats what i would want if i was in their shoes. God calls us to go beyond our biases and stereotypes and help the needy and poor something it took me a while to come to grips with...yes although needy people have alot of rumored habits we need to go beyond and give them a second chance show them Gods forgivness, love and mercy! So my parents have partnered with FRC and Broward outreach center to help feed the homeless....we did our first event on 4th of july...and what a humbling experience that was...grown men weeping for help...families overloading on food because they hadn't had some in months...women with shoes that barely had an bottoms to them...it was truly humbling...i realized more than ever that I as a christian with blessings beyond belief could be such a help to people like these that are worn out and need love and support....so because of that elevate has decided to have an event called hip hop for high tops! Hip Hop for high tops is a giant concert slash party given to help promote the idea of helping the broward outreach center...so heres the thing we decided this would be the best way to hold a shoe drive and it be fun and different! On Aug. 29th we will have a wonderful time of dancers, hip hop, and fun prizes all in the name of helping all you have to do to get in is bring a new pair shoes that than will be collected and given to the homeless of broward! So how cool is that?!?! come support the cause and give another person some hope and support in life. Love you!!!I thank the Lord for you every day because you allow Him to use you to touch the lives of those that are lost and suffering. Keep telling others the only way is through Jesus.We can't wait to see what God does on August 29th at the "Hip Hop for High Tops" event at the Hallandale Campus 214 East Hallandale Beach Blvd. We are praying we will be able to give the Broward Outreach Center/Miami Rescue Mission 500 plus shoes for the homeless of Miami Dade & Broward.
