When you say yes to much....

If its something i realized this year is that i commit to easily to many things all because i hate the disappointment that comes in saying no. It feels to me like your letting down that other person but i heard something really interesting on Friday at my grandparents church (thanks Brian) See it's not really you letting that other person down. GoD gives us more than we can manage sometimes not so we can freak out and be super stressed out but so we can first delegate those responisblities to others and have them step up in there walk with God and second so we can realize wow this is to much for me to handle and fully depend and lean on him. I know as for me i have a really hard time letting things go and saying no but as i have realized the more i say yes a few things happen. 1. i get tired 2. i realize that there is no joy in what i'm doing. 3. i began to neglect those responsiblites and not put my heart and soul into them or others. 4. i miss out on the true blessings God has for me. 5. You end up disappointing more people See i'm a take charge person and i feel if i don't do no one will but sometimes i have to sit back and rem. to let others take those responsiblities and step up to the next level with God. As hard as it sounds i still struggle with it...i want to be involved in everything all the time but its not fesible for me to do so sometimes. Listening to what Brian said Friday made me realize that sometimes it is ok to hand those task to someone else and just depend on God to get you through those stressful times. I know for me the last couple months were that way and i have had to let go of alot of responsiblities at church and work and its been so hard but because i have done those things i have been able to see God lift people up and its amazing! And i have been able to enjoy my family and friends alot more. and also study for school ! So Yes isn't always the best!

Hope You guys had a wonderful weekend! i know i did here are the highlights:
-Game night at Carsons
-Beating the boys 5 times at catchphrase
-Going to bed at 5:30am
-Finding a cool dress on sale at Norka
-Spending time with nana and melissa
-Finding nana's wedding shoes
-Eating at beverly hills twice with my parents
-Bowling and actually getting a strike
-playing poker
-eating at crispers for the first time

Random Thoughts...By ME

Cancellations should be another word for disappointments.
Slow Drivers, Elderly, and Tourist should drive in a specified lane on the hwy. or street.
People notice everything we do, sometimes even when we think no one is watching.
One should get 12 hrs of sleep before working with preschoolers.
Friends are a blessing.
Cousins can be like annoying siblings at times but be patient with them and love them!
Always make sure to get a full background check before considering to date someone than you most likely won't end up in therapy (thanks to my family therapy sessions i learned this!)
Fear not because God is sitting right next to you! =)
Never say never because it always ends up happening!
There should be an instruction manual on How to cake properly...lol
i want to learn how to cook so i'm not just eating frozen meals for the rest of my life.
To do list are liberating (especially when you check something off)
I'm Free in God's love... I need to get up and dance more in his love.
Why can't we have a national nap day?!?! With all the lack of rest in our country...lol
You never to old to learn new words.
Parents are wiser than we give them credit for.
A picture is worth more than a thousand words.
crying is contagious

Thanks for whirling around in my mind for a few minutes! ;)

Spinning = Sore Legs

Well in my mission to get more fit i thought it would be a wonderful idea to take my first spinning class! I mean i love riding bikes how hard can this class really be <----were the thoughts that raced through my head 15 minutes before the class. Ha but 5 minutes into the class my thoughts quickly changed to ---> what the crap did i get myself into, I'm going to die, My legs are going to fall off, and much much more. It was like a nightmare that wouldn't end...its dark (which was good because no one could see my underachieving) the music was so loud and i had a man screaming at me to go faster! After the 50 minutes were up i was sooooo excited i tried to get of the bike and i just couldn't feel my legs but as i stretched i felt actually and suprisingly good that i kristy selecky lasted 50 minutes in my very first spinning class! the more i thought about it the better i felt...i put my mind to something and i did it! Although my legs are sore as can be...i will be fine! and i do plan on going to spinning once again...hoepfully sooner than later! Now its on my way to class lets hope i can make it up the stairs haha!

Betty Crocker makes the best cakes....;)

So Last night i learned a new word that i would like to share thanks to some people at elevate...one that i might use more now"caking" i know u were just as confused as me when i first heard it but it means basically means flirting...hilarious i loved it! I must say that i have been truly blessed to have met new friends at FRC elevate...i must admit i was bit nervous about going since i can be shy at times...and most college groups have the biggest clicks...BUT Elevate is wonderful everyone has just been so sweet and nice and really friendly and just have made me feel like i've known them for years! I enjoy hanging with them so much...they make me laugh and teach me new words and they are alot of fun. God is so wonderful sometimes i must say that with friends he has truly blessed me with old ones and new ones now as well. i hope we will have many more times of caking and playing football and pool!

Miss Therapist in The House

So i was super excited for this semster to begin siiince it would be the semster i would counsel people (even though i have no idea what i'm doing) yes and they are REAL people haha....but as 6 weeks have past by i have begin to grow restless without a client...i mean it felt like everyone at nova had a client except for me and my co therapist! I would pray every week and than come in on thursday and nothing...well after my loong week of from school i recieved a rather eciting phonecall on Friday when my partner (co-therpist) told me we GOT A NEW CLIENT!!! yay! i can't say much about them because therapist have these stupid rules about keeping things private...lol but i can say God will truly stretch me because its working with s specific area that i guess i can't relate because i'm not married and i get frustrated with...haha But i can say that i'm totally excited i've been wanting to get in that therapy room and help some people!

But along with this super excitement like the first time you go to disney...is a nervousness because i'm not sure what to expect (This is my first time doing therapy with adults!) just like you don't know what to expect when you go to disney for the first time ever in your life! But i know its all in God's hands...i read the coolest devo out of my beth moore book about fear the other day about ... It was called don't fear it, pray it. It gave the verse isaiah 41:10,13...u should read it if you have a chance! It just talks about how we have nothing to fear since God is at our right hand and he will strenghten us and hold us up! wow thats so cool what an amazing promise! So instead of fearing the solution is to pray! It just reminded me of this because no matter how big this client's problem is with prayer God will give me the right questions to ask =)

Thank Jesus for finally giving me a client!!!!! Lets just hope my client isn't Mr. Hulk there it might make me frightened...haha

Good Friends never get old....

What a weekend! let me just start by saying i love my friends! and this weekend was a very memorable weekend! I spent Friday with moni! at the new outdoor mall which i must say is quite amazing it feels like your not in florida! i enjoyed spending time talking with her its so important to have friends that you find joyful and make you happy! Melissa joined the 24 club and so that called for some celebration right? but see melissa is special she likes interesting things somehow we let her talk us into going to a Bhangra competition! i didn't even know what Bhangra was but now i'm well emersed. Bhangra for those of you uncultural people lol just kidding orginated in India and it is a type of folk dance quite easy and fun! i must say at first i was a bit skeptical since well we were basically the only non indian people there but it ended up being alot of F-U-N! i learned several things like Nova has a Bhangra team! So does um uf and fiu! I also learned some pretty neat moves that i will be using! its quite easy if your interested me moni, nana and melissa can teach you...haha i don't think i have laughed so hard though until i saw a bunch of crazy guys dancing they had no rymthm it was quite the show. Not only did we see cool people dance but but we heard a famous indian singer sing thats right! to bad we didn't understand a word that came out of his mouth! We were so excited when we left that we danced Bhangra all the way to the car...and created so cool moves as you can see above. and the fun didn't end there we got a free bhangra cd! Its so good sometimes to have good friends to just be crazy with and laugh and make anything fun! Good friends bring joy to your life i know my friends do and i'm so thankful to God to have them in my life!

Pics of my christmas, new years, and dress shopping....

time to update i mean it is 2008!

Well lets see...i'm here for my monthly writing...haha i must say its always fun to just write about my life and havc all you fun people read it....well lets rewind...i've had an eventful few weeks beginning with
1. HOLIDAYS:: these holidays were a bit different i went to NJ! yay! although it was cold as an icebox i must say there were quite a few things i like about the garden state! first, its to cold to exercise daily second, you never have to pump gas third, your nieghbors to New York City fourth, they have pretty deers Fifth, you can make smores in your fireplace inside! Sixth, H&M is only a car ride away! Some of the positives i must say! besides that i enjoyed every minute spending time with my family. I also enjoyed my christmas present a trip to the spa for a mud wrap! i know!
2. New Years:: Good old New Years Eve was spent almost in the air but fortunately Mr. Pilot made it just in time for me to attend my Black and White Party! Yes it was quite the affair with mini quiches and friends we danced the night away and me and monique (my date lol) made our new yrs resolutions....1. To not be in the last women standing club anymore LOL 2. To exercise more ... i'm sure there were more but as you can see i have already forgotten! one thing is for sure something great happened a few days before one of my best friends got engaged yay nana! So that leads me to my next event.
3. Wedding Dress Shopping:: I never knew how hard it would be to plan a wedding until i started helping nana. I never knew the meaning of the street miracle mile until i had to walk every last mile of it...and i know every wedding store in its entire dress and invitation line...lol So if you ever need advice you can now ask me i'm an expert. I joke though i had an amazing time trying to find my friend's wedding dress, it was such a refreshing experience to know that in a few months cristina will be marrying the man she loves! o and there story is adorable but to sum it up in few words she didn't date for like 10 years went to jordan and found her husband (hes from the usa lol).
4. SchooL StarTs:: As excited i was for the semster to be over....and even more excited to discover that i received a 4.0 gpa my first semster! i'm still not super excited about this semster...breaks are always so peaceful and fun and over way to quickly...regardless this is the semster of doom! why kristy do you ask? well i'll tell you this is the semster when i begin to counsel REAL PEOPLE WITH REAL PROBLEMS...ahhhhh. My first week of school i survived without any injury or making a fool of myself...excited to see my friends...and excited about the first day of classes since you get out early! but wasn't excited on thursday when i found out i was going to meet my first victim i mean client...luckily God loves me and my client didn't show so i had to watch everyone else go behind the mirror..it was the koolest thing ever i must admit to watch it being done...it made me so happy and excited that this is what i truly want to do for the rest of my life help people in times in need when they think that can't take it anymore and just be there to help! i loved it! and i'm excited sadly to start school once again.
5. Project Spring Cleaning:: apparantly when i made my new years resolution i secretly decided to spring clean my room, bathroom and closet all while starting school. lol. i know i'm a nut i must say....because i had no idea what the H i was getting myself into....apparently i am a pack rat...who hasn't spring cleaned her closet since she was 7....LOL....i found homework in my closet from like junior high...luckily after much sweat, an almost broken foot, a sore arm and almost breaking the new cubby cabinet i purchased...i finished my project and i am happy to report that my closet, desk and bathroom are fully organized =) and i must admit it feels great (just don't tell my mom ;)
So theres the new year updates! and my last resolution is to write in this things more gosh! If you are so inclined above this post i have posted pictures of my last few weeks!

i love forgiveness!

it's quite humorous that the only time i write in my blog is 1. when i can't sleep and i have something on my mind 2. have exciting news 3. feel sad i so need to write in here more!
anyways....as i sit here awake and can't sleep (which i will regret tommorrow!) ....this song comes to my mind "amazing love how can it be that you my king would die for me..." wow how grateful i am for the Lord's forgiveness (don't worry guys i didn't commit a murder lol just thankful!) Thankful that the Lord knowing my weaknesses, imperfections, and deepest thoughts would love me and die for me know i'm an imperfect person and will continue to let him down at times....but he loves me sooooooooooo much he FORGIVES! Today i was talking with my parents about the shooting that happened in colorado and i was thinking would i have died for a random christian that i don't know willingly so that people may come to christ and the answer in my mind is no...wow how selfish! Not to long ago i was reading in my Oswald Chambers book (thanks Jen) about forgiveness and i realized how selfish i was and somehow i still am! See like i wrote in my Journal..."i assumed that God was suppose to forgive me when i messed up like he owed it to me not ever thinking of where that forgiveness comes from or the price it costed....But God did not have to forgive me! He choose out of his own will to die a very very painful death in order to forgive people like me! It is because of his death on the cross that i Kristina Marie Selecky have been forgiven and will continue to be forgiven it was because of his UNSELFISH SCARFICE!" i have to constantly remind myself that yes i am forgiven but it costed Jesus his life....THANK YOU JESUS FOR FORGIVENESS THAT COVERS ALL SINS NO MATTER HOW BIG OR SMALL! When life gets so busy i have to sit down and remind myself of God's unselfish scarfice! It just amazes me what a great FAther i have and how his love is so overflowing....i can only be thankful =)
"In him we have...the forgiveness of sins..." Eph. 1:7
goodnight guys!
